Do you know for certain that you have eternal life and that you will go to heaven when you die? God wants you to know for sure.

“I write these things to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.” –1 John 5:13

God loves you and has a purpose for your life.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” –John 3:16

“I (Jesus) came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” –John 10:10

Some people believe they will go to heaven because they live a good life, do good things and treat people fairly. You may even go to church regularly and may have even been baptized, but the Bible, God’s Word, says that no one can live a life of righteousness that meets God’s standard. God’s punishment is death and hell.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one…” –Romans 3:10

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…” –Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death…” – Romans 6:23a

God offers us the free gift of salvation.

“But God shows His love for us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we now have been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God.” –Romans 5:8-9

“But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord…” – Romans 6:23b

Place your faith in Jesus Christ to save you.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” – Romans 10:9-10

“For whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” –Romans 10:13

Talk to God about it. He will understand your heart and respond with love and grace when you sincerely reach out to Him for forgiveness. Here is a sample prayer you can use to start the conversation.

Dear God, I believe by faith that Jesus, your Son, died on the cross, was buried, and rose to life on the third day to be my Savior. I turn from my sin. I ask You, Lord Jesus, to forgive my sin and come into my life.  I trust you as my Savior and want to live a new life with your help.  Thank you, Jesus for saving me.
